I have just got back from a lovely weekend in Budapest.
We arrived in the snow and it looked even prettier than I thought it would be.
So when my friend gave me her Budapest guide book I though it was a good option for a weekend away and only 2ish hours flight. I love traveling all over the world in search of fabulous vintage. So I was excited to see what
Budapest had to offer. We arrived at the fabulous boutique hotel called Brody house
it was only 20mins by taxi to the airport and in a great location for all the vintage thrift.
The hotel was in a beautiful old building on the Pest side which had been restored with lots of cool art and eclectic objects.
There was compliantly tea served 24/7 which is always a plus in my book and a fully stocked honesty bar....perfect for a night cap.
So here are a list of all the vintage shops we visited and I must say the choice of vintage on offer was very good and reasonably priced.
My favourite find was this lovely 1960s metallic gold printed cocktail dress…. And it's even better as it will for a uk modern size 12 perfectly.
We of course had to do the touristy things and one of my highlights was going for a ride at night on funicular... European first train cable car which takes you up to the place where there's a wonderful viewing platform of Buda and Pest.
I love a souvenir so we headed to the market hall where there was a great selection of local handicrafts, food and gifts. I picked up these cute wine stoppers and pencils with a little Hungarian lady gracing the top of them. And of course a bottle of Hungarian fizz too go with them too.
So if you fancy a relaxing weekend away in a great city then I fully recommend the lovely city of Budapest.
So now it's on to booking the next vintage weekend away.... So Where next I wonder?
