Miss Darling's top 5 Afternoon Teas...

Every time me & the fashion sorority girls get together the first thing we do is put the kettle on & have a good old natter over a brew!

(we even like to drink our champagne from tea cups too)..

I am an avid fan of the ‘Afternoon Tea’ tradition; I love the care and time put into this stylish & very sophisticated ritual.

Yes I drink tea from mugs but nothing beats drinking a well-blended tea from a bone china teacup whilst nibbling on the most delicious and scrumptious finger sandwiches & delicate cakes.

I have tried quite a few of London’s finest afternoon teas and many else where.

So here are my Top Five Teas….

The Ritz

Highlight: The endless supply of sandwiches & cakes brought to you by very well dressed & friendly waiters.

Overview: The over the top deco makes you feel you have been transported to an Edwardian solarium.

The Beverly Hills hotel

Highlight: The cucumber sandwiches are like pieces of art, how I wish I could recreate them.

(The piano player was amazing too)!

Overview: If the glorious LA sunshine & being in Beverley Hills isn’t enough this amazing hotel has been graced with the presence of all the Hollywood greats that makes it feel extra special knowing they have been there.

The Sanderson

Highlight: A cocktail is also included in the price which is such a treat. alot of thought and care has gone into the sandwiches and cakes, which makes the experience feel extra special. It really is great for novelty fun sure to make you grin like a cheshire cat.

There's the ‘Eat Me' multi-layered Victoria sponge cake, The ‘Drink Me' banana, peanut and sea salt smoothie is served in a delicate chocolate espresso cup with a vanilla straw that tempts the taste buds and the crackling hazelnut and passion fruit tart, topped with the White Rabbit's pocket watch snaps and pops with every bite.

The Berkley

Highlight: The waiter brings you a mood board and talks you through all the latest fashion trends and explains that each cake is inspired by a designer’s trend. They even give you a handbag shaped carry case to take home extra cakes if you can’t eat them all.

Overview: If you are looking for some novelty fun for a fashion-loving crowd this really is a special treat, not to mention have Harvey Nicholas and Harrods only a stones throw from the hotel, so you can really make a day of it.

Highlight: The striped mint green and white bone china teacups and teapots.

Overview: A buzzing atmosphere and endless supply of cakes and sandwiches makes this a relaxed affair not to mention all the designer shops down Bond Street are only round the corner.
