Afternoon Tea is one of my favourite things to do (and also my main diet)!!! I have been lucky enough to be able to try many afternoon teas all over the world, but I must say I have never experienced Afternoon Tea quite like this one!
It was my sisters 30th coming up, and trying to find a fun and unique idea was a bit of a task. But when I got my Afternoon Tea Council newsletter with some information about the Afternoon Tea Bus I knew it was the perfect thing to do.
The bus is extremely popular, and if you are planning on booking I would get in there early, I manged to book it 3 months ago via their website. You even get to choose where you sit....of course I wanted the upper deck. The bus picked us up just outside a hotel off Trafalgar Square. As the bus rolled up we could see beautifully displayed in the windows the tea was already laid out. The retro interior was delightful and as the bus got going I could see other tour buses snapping pictures of the bus wishing they were abroad having tea with us. There were no alcoholic beverages served on the bus, but you can bring your own for a corkage fee of £5.00 which we did. Of course one must sip champagne with there afternoon tea!!
The food was delicious and very well organised. The french staff we just fabulous too. We had a choice of many hot drinks, from a selection of teas, coffees and hot chocolate. We even got to keep our thermo cup as a souvenir.
As it was my lovely sisters birthday I mentioned during the order of the booking that it was her birthday. So they had preperaed her a lovely cupcake with candles and we all sang Happy birthday as they carried it up the stairs.
It really was a lovely day out, very relaxing and it was a fun way to see the city. The tour lasted around an hour and a half...the perfect amount of time, we also had a few cakes left over and we were given a cute carrier box to take them away with us for later.
